Nick Cannon Slams Kanye West’s ‘Genius’ Self Declaration

Although he’s friends with West, Cannon does not hesitate to remind the rapper that he doesn’t have to tell everyone he’s a genius.

nick-cannon-5th-annual-teennick-halo-awardsNick Cannon slammed best buddy Kanye West via Twitter for his constant “genius” remarks. The “America’s Got Talent” host took it to his microblogging site on late Wednesday, November 27 to remind West that “real geniuses don’t have to tell everyone that they are a genius.”

West has been making rounds doing interviews in which he declared himself “creative genius.” He also stopped his concerts to tell his audience of which rappers he thought were geniuses. In one interview, West cockily said he would write “creative genius” as his occupation on custom forms but “it takes too long to write and sometimes I spell the word genius wrong.”

Cannon commented, “I love @KanyeWest like a brother & been one of his biggest fans & friends since day 1, but Genius is eternal patience. Real geniuses don’t have to tell everyone that they are a genius.” He added, “Maybe I should’ve just called him and told him that in private. Oops, my bad! Twitter-stream-of-consciousness LOL. I just got online and saw all these @KanyeWest interviews and I was inspired to rant. Oh well, going back to Thanksgiving. We cookin’ son!”

A few hours later Cannon’s Twitter account was hacked but he confirmed that the West comment came straight from him. “Oh but don’t think it was the hacker saying all that crazy stuff about Thanksgiving and Kanye. That was me! LOL,” he wrote. West has not responded.
